The Four R’s of Summer

Can you believe it? The first day of July will be here before we know it! Here are a few suggestions to get you in the summer mindset:

Reflect.
Take some time to consider the journey you’ve taken this school year. What will you take into the next school year? What will you leave behind? This blog post shares an example of that kind of reflection.

Recharge.
One way to prime your batteries for the next school year is to learn something new! A couple of options we recommend this summer are the 2021 Literacies and Languages for All (LLA) Summer Institute and the 2021 Summer Sandbox Series, a four-week series exploring the historic, creative, civic, and disciplinary qualities of annotation.

Relax.
“Self-care matters because you matter.” Here are a few tips to get you started.

Read!
We’re pretty sure you’ve got a summer reading list going already! If you are looking for additional suggestions for professional titles, flip through the latest NCTE catalog. Resources from the Build Your Stack® initiative can help build your book knowledge and provide ideas for your classroom library.

How do you plan to spend your summer?
